September 16, 2026 – Kiwi Motorsport is set for a busy penultimate weekend of the 2026 season at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR), with championship contenders across the Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.), and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC). The team will return to VIR with its full three-series lineup, entering the final stretch of the season with multiple drivers still in championship contention.
In FR Americas, Cooper Shipman and Harbir Dass will once again lead the Kiwi Motorsport effort. Shipman currently sits third in the championship standings, while Dass enters the weekend seventh in points. With only two events remaining, both drivers will look to maximize their results and close the gap in the championship fight.
Kiwi Motorsport's F4 U.S. Championship lineup features four drivers currently positioned inside the top-seven of the standings. Zach Fourie enters the penultimate event second in points, followed by teammate Caleb Campbell in third. Clemente Huerta sits fifth in the championship, while Ayden Kohut enters the weekend seventh.
In Ligier JFC, Jack Speth will once again represent Kiwi Motorsport in the Gen. 2 class. Speth arrives at VIR leading the championship standings and will look to protect his position during the penultimate event of the season.
Located in Alton, Va., Virginia International Raceway features a challenging 3.27-mile road course known for its fast, flowing layout, significant elevation changes and a variety of technical corners. The circuit's combination of high-speed sections and demanding braking zones provides a significant challenge for drivers and teams across all three championships.
“We have a lot on the line this weekend, and it is exciting to have so many of our drivers in championship contention,” said Kiwi Motorsport Team Owner Teena Larsen. “We have worked hard all season to put our drivers in this position, and now it is about executing when it matters most. Cooper and Harbir have a strong opportunity in FR, Zach, Caleb, Clemente and Ayden are all fighting near the front in F4, and Jack has done an incredible job leading the JFC championship. VIR is a challenging track, but we are ready for the weekend and looking forward to seeing what this team can accomplish.”
Kiwi Motorsport's weekend will begin Thursday with testing, followed by another day of testing Friday before practice and combined Ligier JFC and F4 qualifying. FR Americas qualifying will continue Saturday morning before each championship takes to the track for its first race of the weekend. Sunday will feature one additional race for each series as the penultimate event of the season comes to a close. Fans can follow the weekend's live timing through the Race Monitor app as Kiwi Motorsport's championship contenders battle for valuable points heading into the final event of the 2026 season.
