Papasavvas Battles Through Adversity for Triple Podium Weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

June 23, 2026 — Evagoras Papasavvas overcame adversity and some mechanic issues to secure three podium finishes during a dramatic FR Americas Championship weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Crosslink Motorsports.

Entering the weekend as one of the championship favorites, Papasavvas showed strong pace from the outset, qualifying third for Race 1. However, a post-qualifying penalty relegated the Loveland, Ohio native to the back of the field for the opening race of the weekend.

Undeterred by the setback, Papasavvas delivered one of the best drives of the weekend. Starting 15th, he methodically worked his way through the field, gaining 13 positions to finish second and salvage valuable championship points. His impressive charge through the field was further rewarded, as the fastest lap from Race 1 earned him pole position for Race 2.

Papasavvas capitalized on the opportunity and led much of the second race, controlling the pace for nearly two-thirds of the event. Unfortunately, a failed rear bar affected the handling of his Crosslink Motorsports machine during the closing stages, forcing him to settle for a third-place finish despite having the pace to contend for victory.

The final race of the weekend saw Papasavvas line up second on the grid. Once again, he remained in the fight at the front of the field and crossed the finish line in second, completing a triple-podium weekend at one of the most iconic venues in motorsports. Despite missing out on a victory, the results allowed Papasavvas to continue adding to his championship total as the season approaches its second half.

"It wasn't exactly the weekend we wanted when we arrived at Indianapolis,” explained Evagoras. “Sometimes championships are about maximizing the days when things don't go your way. Starting at the back after qualifying third was frustrating and then having the rear bar issue while leading Race Two was tough to swallow. That said, the team gave me a great car all weekend, and we were still able to come away with three podiums and a lot of championship points. We'll take the positives, keep working, and come back stronger for the next round."

As the championship battle intensifies, Papasavvas remains firmly in contention and will look to continue his consistent run of podium finishes when the series resumes later this summer. With Indianapolis now in the rearview mirror, Papasavvas and Crosslink Motorsports will enjoy a brief break before returning to FR Americas competition at New Jersey Motorsports Park July 31-August 2.
