June 8, 2026 — Championship leader Evagoras Papasavvas is set to return to familiar territory this weekend as the Formula Regional Americas Championship heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the next events of the 2026 season.
Representing Crosslink Motorsports, Papasavvas enters the event atop the championship standings after a stellar start to the year that has included two victories, and two additional podium finishes through the opening five rounds. The strong performances have established the Ohio native as one of the leading contenders in this year's title fight.
For Papasavvas, the upcoming event carries extra significance as Mid-Ohio serves as his home track. Growing up in Loveland, Ohio, he has logged countless laps around the historic circuit, won races in multiple disciplines, and looks forward to competing in front of family, friends, and local supporters. Located in Lexington, Ohio, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is one of the most respected road courses in North America. The 2.258-mile, 13-turn circuit is known for its challenging elevation changes, technical corners, and fast-flowing layout that rewards precision and consistency.
Coming off another successful weekend at Road America, Papasavvas is eager to continue building momentum as the championship battle enters its next phase.
"I'm really excited to get back to Mid-Ohio,” explained Evagoras. “It's a track I've raced at and tested on quite a bit over the years, so it's always special when we come here. To be leading the championship heading into my home race is a great feeling, but there's still a lot of racing left this season. The goal is to stay focused, maximize points, and hopefully put on a good show for everyone who comes out to support us this weekend."
With momentum on his side and home-track advantage in his favor, Papasavvas will look to strengthen his championship lead as the FR Americas season continues at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The race weekend begins Thursday with testing, followed by additional testing sessions Friday morning. Friday afternoon will feature the official practice session before qualifying and Race 1 take place on Saturday. The second and final race of the weekend will be held Sunday.
