MLT Confirms Driver Lineup, Expands F4 U.S. Program to Include FR Americas and Ligier JFC in 2026

BRASELTON, Ga. (April 7, 2026) – MLT Motorsports has confirmed its 2026 driver lineup, fielding drivers across the entire Racing America Formula Ladder system, to include Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC), Formula 4 United States (F4 U.S.) and Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas). The three-part program will see drivers competing at each step of the ladder, as the team expands beyond the F4 U.S. program that resulted in the Driver Vice Championship and Team Third-Place Championship titles in 2025.

“We’re excited to get the 2026 season underway and have drivers competing at all three levels of Racing America’s Formula Ladder,” said Eric VanBibber, General Manager of MLT Motorsports. “We had a successful season in 2025 with Alex Popow Jr. in F4 U.S., so to expand the program to include FR Americas and Ligier JFC is something we’re excited about. Edward, Cole and Jonathan are all talented drivers, and we’re looking forward to working with them this year.”

Edward Kennedy will compete in Ligier JFC’s Gen 2 class, running the No. 30 Ligier JS F422 for MLT Motorsports. Kennedy turned heads as he became the youngest driver in Canadian karting history to qualify for the World Championships in two different engine categories when he was just 10 years old, and has continued to impress ever since. A multi-time karting champion who has raced across North America and Europe, Kennedy spent the last year and a half testing with MLT Motorsports and competing in regional formula events.

In F4 U.S. competition, MLT Motorsports will have Cole Medeiros behind the wheel of the No. 77 Ligier JS F422. After a dominant 2025 karting season, including international competitions at SKUSA SuperNationals, RMC Grand Finals in Bahrain and the ROKCup Super Final in Italy, Medeiros will run dual campaigns in 2026 competing in both F4 U.S. and USF Juniors.

Returning to MLT Motorsports, Jonathan Cottrill will move up to FR Americas to pilot the No. 75 Ligier JS F3 this season. A Colorado native, Cottrill first joined MLT Motorsports last fall for the F4 U.S. season finale at Barber Motorsports Park, where he earned back-to-back top-10 finishes.

MLT Motorsports will kick off their 2026 season later this week at NOLA Motorsports Park. Tickets for the Racing America at NOLA weekend, April 10-12, are available now at RacingAmericaTickets.com, and fans can follow live timing and scoring on the Race Monitor app.
