League City, Texas Driver Brings Multiple Championships, Decades of Open-Wheel Experience, and Strong Sponsorship Support to FR Americas; Series Debut Set for April 10 at NOLA Motorsports Park
ALVIN, Texas (March 31, 2026) – Elevate Motorsports Marketing announced today, on behalf of Hillenburg Motorsports, that Whitney Strickland of League City, Texas, will compete full-season in the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) in the Masters Championship. This marks the first of two driver announcements for the team’s debut professional campaign.
Strickland, a highly accomplished SCCA competitor and Chairman of TF Companies, brings a wealth of open-wheel racing experience to Hillenburg Motorsports. He has earned multiple championships and awards, including Southwest Division Champion (2015, 2016, 2017, 2022), 2015 Houston Region Rookie of the Year, 2022 Mid-States Conference Champion, 2022 Southern Conference Champion, and 2018 AJ Foyt Driver of the Year.
Strickland regularly competes in Formula Enterprise 2 (FE2) and Spec Racer Ford classes, with recent highlights including a fifth-place finish in the 2025 SCCA Runoffs FE2 class. He also serves as a race instructor at MSR Houston and shares his onboard laps and race footage on his popular YouTube channel, where fans can follow his journey through Super Tour events at tracks like Road Atlanta, NOLA, and Road America.
“Whitney is exactly the kind of driver we love to develop and support,” said Roy Hillenburg, co-owner of Hillenburg Motorsports. “His proven success in SCCA formula cars, combined with his passion for the sport and strong partnership with TF Companies, makes him a perfect fit for our FR Americas Masters Championship program. We’re thrilled to have him behind the wheel as we step into this professional series.”
Strickland will pilot the No. 21 Hillenburg Motorsports’ FR Americas entry in the Masters Championship, a contingency program for drivers age 35 and older that offers additional recognition and awards, while allowing full participation in overall event podiums and payouts. His title sponsor, TF Companies, a leader in construction and maintenance services for the energy and manufacturing industries, will provide primary backing for the season.
Hillenburg Motorsports will make its FR Americas debut — with Strickland on track — at the season-opening round at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, La., April 9–12.
A second driver announcement is expected in the coming days.
