Championships Approach Season Opener with Racing America at NOLA, April 10-12
AVONDALE, La. (March 26, 2026) – Race teams and drivers from around the globe converged at NOLA Motorsports Park on Monday and Tuesday for a two-day pre-season test, allowing the participants in Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) an opportunity to prepare for the 2026 season.
With two full days of on-track activity, drivers had more than six and a half hours of track time to get familiar with the circuit and their cars as they prepare for the 2026 season. All participants also completed media day activities, with interviews, content capture and headshots included as part of the event.
“As a driver, I always enjoyed pre-season tests, as it gave me an opportunity to knock off the rust from the winter break,” said Scott Goodyear, Race Director for Ligier JFC, F4 U.S. and FR Americas. “As a race director, I’m very happy that we give returning drivers and rookies an opportunity to prepare for the first race of the season, which is just a short two weeks away. From watching the pace of the test and the quality of the field, we are set for another terrific season of racing across all three championships.”
The 2026 season will include races at some of the most-celebrated circuits across North America, as Ligier JFC runs 16 races at six circuits, F4 U.S. holds 18 races at seven different tracks, and FR Americas visits eight venues while contesting their 21 races.
All three series will race together at NOLA in two weeks. From there, the ladder will be together as drivers compete at Road America, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, New Jersey Motorsports Park, VIRginia International Raceway and crown champions at Barber Motorsports Park in October. Meanwhile, F4 U.S. and FR Americas will travel north of the border over Labor Day Weekend to race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park’s Labour Day Weekend Sprints, and FR Americas will celebrate Father’s Day Weekend while taking on the storied Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
It’s sure to be a heated battle across all three championships this year with valuable prizes and scholarships on the line. Drivers in Ligier JFC and F4 U.S. will vie for champion scholarships that allow them to move up to the next step on the ladder, while providing them with the lease of a chassis and engine, race tires and race entry fees. In FR Americas, drivers will compete for a $100,000 cash prize that is awarded to the champion at the end of the season.
Ligier JFC, F4 U.S. and FR Americas will all kick off their 2026 season together at NOLA Motorsports Park, April 10-12. Tickets for the event are available now at RacingAmericaTickets.com.
