Titus Sherlock Goes Two for Two on Saturday at Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (May 17, 2025) – Titus Sherlock had a perfect day in Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) competition, earning two wins in two races as the series kicked off its Road America event. Overcoming every challenge that he faced today, including inclement weather in Race 1 and on-track competition in Race 2, Sherlock looks to sweep the weekend when the lights go out at Road America tomorrow.

Notes of Interest:

  • Titus Sherlock earned his second win of the weekend and third in just five races this season. He now leads all FR Americas competitors in wins this year.
  • Bruno Ribeiro’s runner-up result was his best finish of the season, marking his third podium of 2025.
  • With a third-place result, Nicolas Ambiado is the only driver to finish on the podium in all three races this year.
  • Connor Roberts earned a career-best FR Americas finish, earning his first points of the season and coming home fifth in Race 1 at Road America.

Recording the fastest lap in Race 1, Titus Sherlock (No. 31 Rayne Nutrition / Ronald McDonald House Charities / Crosslink Motorsports Ligier JS F3) once again led the field down the grid on Saturday afternoon. Bruno Ribeiro (No. 01 Alfa Cem / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) started to his outside, but with a good jump off the starting block, Ribeiro easily took an early lead as the field raced into Turn 1. It was a short-lived lead, though, as Sherlock looked to his outside as they raced down the frontstretch to complete the first lap and reclaimed the point position in the same fashion Ribeiro took it the lap prior. Behind them, Nicolas Ambiado (No. 55 Velox USA / Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) was making bold moves to gain positions after rolling off in eighth. Reaching fifth by the exit of Turn 2, Ambiado climbed to fourth by the exit of Turn 5 and pulled to third as they raced through Turn 2 the following lap.

Up front, Sherlock started to settle into a rhythm, but all that changed when the safety car was deployed to allow safety crews to retrieve a car from the gravel trap 10 minutes into the event. As the race restarted a few minutes later, Sherlock easily jumped to the lead, but they flocked three-wide behind him as the green flag waved. Despite the challenge, they emerged in the same order they were before prior to the caution—Sherlock in the lead, Ribeiro in second, Ambiado in third and Brady Golan (No. 80 Attire / Toney Driver Development Ligier JS F3) in fourth. With everyone minding their P’s and Q’s, the race ticked down toward the checkered flag.

The race was slowed once again with just a few minutes left on the clock, as a driver toward the back of the pack dropped a wheel off the racing surface, spun several times and made heavy impact with the wall at the exit of the Carousel. With debris spread across the track, the field continued on toward the finish line and a waving checkered flag.

As they crossed the line, Sherlock led, with Ribeiro in second and Ambiado third.

“Really happy to be back in Victory Lane,” said Sherlock atop the podium. “The conditions this afternoon were very different than this morning, so it was a little bit easier this time. I was just trying to put the laps together and stay clean and make no mistakes. You know, you always want to keep going when you’re leading and have a bit of a gap, but we had a clean restart and we got through it. I have to thank my entire Crosslink Motorsports crew—the car’s been so fast this weekend and they’ve been doing a great job. My family, my Uncle Tony, my mom, everyone watching at home—thank you.”

FR Americas will contest their final race of the Road America SpeedTour tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CT. The race will air live on SPEED SPORT 1, and also stream live on SpeedTour.TV. Additional news and updates throughout the weekend will be shared on the series’ FacebookInstagram and Twitter.
