CHARLOTTE (April 30, 2025) – Ava Dobson, a Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) graduate and 2023 recipient of the Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH) Powering Diversity Scholarship, was announced as the wild card contender for this weekend’s F1 ACADEMY event at the Miami Grand Prix. The American makes her F1 ACADEMY debut on home soil while piloting the No. 90 Morgan Stanley operated by Hitech TGR car.
Dobson joined F4 U.S. immediately following her 15th birthday in 2023. By 2024, she ventured over to Europe, making two appearances in GB4 Championship, before returning to the series for a full campaign this season. She’s scored points across the first two rounds this season, having competed at Donington Park and Silverstone.
The 16-year-old joins fellow F4 U.S. alum Chloe Chambers and current Formula Regional Americas driver Nicole Havrda on the grid at Miami. Dobson and Havrda will actually race as teammates for Hitech TGR.
The Miami Grand Prix takes place this weekend, May 2-4. Two free practices (10:05 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. ET) are scheduled for Friday, with qualifying (10:25 a.m. ET) and Race 1 (2:55 p.m. ET) slated to take place on Saturday, and Race 2 (1:05 p.m. ET) following on Sunday.
