November 9, 2023 – Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is home to the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda season finale every year, and 2023 saw the final few points awarded in what was a close battle for the driver championship. Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport driver Ryan Shehan earned Vice Champion honors in the 2023 driver championship at his hometown track in Austin, Texas.
After a close battle with his teammate for the 2023 title all season long, Ryan Shehan entered the season finale weekend second in the championship point standings with a shot at the title. The talented young driver battled and scored enough points to secure second in the drivers' championship, just ahead of another teammate, making it a Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport one-two-three in the championship. Additionally, Shehan’s consistent results throughout the year helped the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport program earn the FR Americas Team Championship as well.
“Circuit of the Americas is a complicated track,” explained Shehan. “But it is so fun to race. We got caught up in a few different challenges this weekend so, the races didn’t quite go our way but I’m proud of my efforts this year on and off the track and am already excited about the 2024 season. Thank you to my parents and family for all the support this season. The Harrison Noel Team for their constant support. I also want to make a special mention to my partners: Goose Creek Financial, Complete Circle Consulting, The Cookbook Creative, Speed City Broadcasting, and all the Ryan Shehan Racing Pathfinders that have joined me along this journey.”
Shehan went on to add, “I also want to congratulate the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport team on winning the driver and team championship in both FR Americas and the F4 U.S. Championship. It’s a testament to the hard work they’ve put in this year.”
Ryan and his business team now pivot quickly back to the building Ryan Shehan Racing and Shehan Strong. With multiple options for engaging sponsors, investors, and fans, Ryan is disrupting traditional motorsports marketing with his outside-the-box approaches to generate value. He is also quickly turning to working in the community via Shehan Strong. Ryan will be the Guest Speaker at the annual iWRITE book signing and gala on Saturday, November 11th in Houston. He will be sharing his message of “Push Your Limits” to young writers who are being recognized for their achievements.
