June 21, 2023 – As one of the premier teams in F4 and FR competition in the United States, Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport has bolstered its lineup to a staggering 12 entries for this coming weekend. Set to take on the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport effort will see seven drivers compete in the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda, with six in the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda. Additionally, two new drivers join Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport this weekend.
Leading the way into Mid-Ohio will be Patrick Woods-Toth as he is ahead in the championship standings by 22 points over teammate Jesse Lacey as Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport occupies the top two positions. With four drivers in the top-ten of the championship battle, Titus Sherlock and Lewis Hodgson sit sixth and ninth and will be looking for a good weekend on the result sheets to close the gap in front. PMH Diversity Driver Hannah Greenemeier and Alex Benavitz will be the fifth and sixth drivers in the strong seven-driver lineup as they will be joined by newcomer Jett Bowling.
While Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport holds the top four positions in the FR Americas Championship point battle, only three of those drivers will travel to Mid-Ohio. Callum Hedge will look to keep his point lead intact as he leads by a scant four points over multi-time race winner Ryan Shehan. Cooper Becklin sits third and will be a contender this weekend stemming from his impressive results here last season. Looking for his first win of the season, Becklin is also aiming to gain back some points to the championship leaders. Manuel Roza is seventh in the classifications, but only two points from fifth while Kevin Janzen puts another driver in the top-ten currently in ninth. Just like in F4, the team will have a new driver to their FR lineup as national-level kart racer Max Hewitt joins the talent-filled program.
“We are the current leaders in both driver and team championships, and we can’t let up. There is still plenty of racing to go and Sunday will only be the halfway mark to the 2023 season,” explained Garry Orton. “At every round, the pressure gets greater to perform. Everybody on the team is doing a fantastic job. Super proud of how all our drivers are doing both in F4 and FR.”
With an optional test session planned for Thursday afternoon and an additional one on Friday morning, official practice will begin Friday afternoon. Saturday will break way for qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel racing of the weekend, with races two and three rolling off the grid on Sunday.
