2022 FR Americas Champion Raoul Hyman Kicks Off SUPER FORMULA Season

Rounds 1-2 Set for Fuji Speedway This Weekend

 

CHARLOTTE (April 7, 2023) – When Raoul Hyman won the 2022 Formula Regional Americas Championship Powered by Honda Driver Championship, the 26-year-old won more than just a championship title—he also won a scholarship to compete in the 2023 SUPER FORMULA season with backing from Honda Performance Development (HPD) and Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). This weekend’s competition at Fuji Speedway will mark the championship’s first of seven events, which includes stops at Japan’s Autopolis, Sportsland SUGO, Mobility Resort Motegi, as well as a repeat visit to Fuji and two stops at Suzuka Circuit.

The only Englishman in the field and the only driver with a background competing in Formula Regional Americas, Hyman will pilot in the No. 51 for B-Max Racing Team.

Round 1 of Fuji Qualifying is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on Friday, April 7, with the race following at 1 a.m. ET on Saturday, April 8. Round 2 Qualifying will take place at 7:55 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 8 with the race following at 1:15 a.m. ET on Sunday, April 9.

Coverage of the race from Fuji Speedway will be available to stream on Motorsport.TV, as well as on REV TV in Canada.
