TJ Speed Enters VIR with Drivers First, Third, and Fifth in the FR Americas Championship

October 5, 2022 – On the verge of their second consecutive Team and Driver Championship in the FR Americas Powered by Honda program, TJ Speed enters the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) event this weekend with the opportunity to secure both. With the penultimate weekend on deck and only six wheel-to-wheel races left remaining of the 18 on the schedule, team drivers currently sit first, third, and fifth in the championship table.

Leading the charge into VIR will be Raoul Hyman on the strength of seven race wins and twelve podiums in twelve races this season. The driver to beat at season long, Hyman enters the weekend with a 51-point advantage and could claim the title if he closes Sunday with a 75-point gap.

“Our goal is the same as it has been every previous race weekend and that is to win,” explained Tim Neff, Owner of TJ Speed. “We have a chance to earn four championships in two seasons and if we keep doing what we have been doing, that could happen this weekend.”

Jason Alder enters the weekend third in the point battle with one win and four podium results to his credit. A driver who has shown he has the speed and talent to compete and win, in whatever he drives, Alder will for sure be a threat for the top step of the podium in the final six wheel-to-wheel races of the season at both VIR and the Circuit of the Americas.

Scoring points in 11 events of the 12 available this season, TJ Speed driver Nick Persing enters the penultimate event weekend fifth in the championship standings and with the opportunity to move forward. Only five points behind the current fourth place driver and 14 points behind third, TJ Speed could put three drivers in the top-four of the series point standings when the series concludes in November.

TJ Speed will be on track at the VIRginia International Raceway in three different races over the course of the weekend providing three opportunities for race wins and even more podium results. Set to hit the tack on Thursday and Friday for practice, TJ Speed will make their run for the pole position on Saturday morning before the first wheel-to-wheel action that afternoon. Sunday will provide two more chances for the TJ Speed trio in races two and three on the weekend. You can follow along on the TJ Speed social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
