April 19, 2022 - Doran-Kroll Competition has inked 17-year-old Athreya Ramanan to a test and race program for the remainder of the 2022 race season. As a Formula Pro USA race winner in 2021 and the Vice Champion in the popular Western Championship program, Ramanan will lean on the experience of the expanding Doran-Kroll Competition team as he has his sights set on multiple events in the future.
“I am excited to be back with Doran-Kroll Competition and can’t wait to get started,” expressed Ramanan. “They are a top tier program, and I have already learned so much from them. To have a chance to drive and learn in a Ligier JSF3 will only speed up my experiences and provide me the next step in my goal.”
Beginning an intense test program this week, Ramanan will be on track today and tomorrow at Buttonwillow Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California.
“We have a pretty in-depth test program planned for Athreya as we want to make sure that he is up to speed quick and has several laps under his belt,” explained Team Owner Francois Doran. “Athreya is a proven winner in the F4 ranks with us and it is now time to help elevate him to the next level and pending his progression, enter him in some bigger events later this year.”
Competition Director Dominic Dobson added, “Athreya is a natural talent but as we do with all our drivers, we need to take an approach that will benefit them in the long run, not us in the short term. Athreya can win, and we want to help him get there.”
Along with test and race program, Athreya Ramanan has launched his new logo for 2022. Featuring a sleek design that brings together his nationalities and team, Ramanan and Doran-Kroll Competition are hoping to push this brand to the top step of the podium for years to come.
