West Coast News: Doran Motorsports Group Confirms Purchase Ligier JS F3

From Kid Kart to the top of the FIA open-wheel ladder

With a driver announcement last week for the Formula Pro USA F4 Western Championship, Doran Motorsports Group (DMG) is making waves in the motorsports news once again. Set to expand to the FR ranks with the purchase of a Ligier JS F3, the growing program will have another driver announcement on the horizon as they are committed to the expansion and growth of their program.

“We are excited to grow and enter a new open wheel division,” explained Francois Doran. “We are committed to the success of our drivers and can’t wait to announce our next driver in the coming weeks. From karting to cars, we are working hard to make Doran Motorsports Group one of the top motorsports companies in the United States with the first complete ladder system on the West Coast.”

Planning to take part in the entire Formula Pro USA Western Championship, Doran Motorsports Group is also looking at the Formula Regional Americas Championship Powered by Honda should the proper partners and funding fall into place.

DMG is familiar with the winner's circle, winning numerous karting championships from kid karts to track records in KZ. DMG started their Formula 4 program back in mid 2018. After intensive testing for six-months, DMG entered their first official event by winning their inaugural race at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. The two-car team collectively went on to win seven races, earn more than ten podium results and went on to win the 2019 Formula Pro USA Championship with Canadian driver Marco Kacic.

“In my opinion, growing a business in the racing industry is one of the hardest challenges any businessman can face,” added Francois Doran. “I'm proud of the business model we've developed and the team we've become over the years, from the crew, to our driver coaches such as Alex Barron and Nikita Lastochkin, our engineer Brandon Reed and good drivers such as Marco Kacic. This business will never get easy but with those guys there are no limits as to what we can accomplish. We've proven it and we will keep on proving so.”

Set to take part in the Formula Pro USA Western Championship, Doran Motorsports Group will have another driver announcement next week. Stay tuned!
