Andretti Autosport and Danial Frost Battle Mechanical Issues at VIR

RACE 1.

For the second weekend of competition for the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda, the field experienced its first of three races at VIRginia International Raceway. Danial Frost returned behind the wheel of his No. 68 DEN-JET Honda for the tripleheader event. Frost started Race 1 from the fourth position and running steady before experiencing a mechanical issue at the end of the race ultimately left the 68 team with an 11th-place finish.

RACE 2.

Slated to start Race 2 from the fifth position, Frost and the No. 68 team encountered a mechanical issue prior to the green flag waving. The 68 team quickly identified the issue and went to work as Frost rejoined the field to complete 11 laps of the 20-lap race.

RACE 3.

After a pair of finishes plagued by mechanical issues for the first two rounds at VIR, Frost started the final race of the weekend in the 10th position and earned the Hard Charger Award for Race 3 as the 18-year-old worked his way up to finish fifth.

"Difficult weekend for the team and myself," said Frost. "We struggled with mechanical issues and timing was not in our favor. We got caught out with flags and weren’t able to put a good time down on qualifying. We had the pace for podium, but unfortunately we were never able to convert our pace to our true position. The team did a great job fixing the car and getting me back on track during the races. We look forward to a better weekend at Barber."
