JHDD Joins the Formula Regional Americas Championship

Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) is delighted to announce that beginning with the 2020 season, the team will be adding the Formula Regional Americas Championship Powered by Honda to its ladder program.

JHDD enjoyed success in the karting ranks for a number of years, before graduating into open wheel racing courtesy of the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda for its inaugural season back in 2016.  Race wins followed, before the team expanded into the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship for the 2019 season, winning three races in its debut season.

With JHDD’s Formula Regional Americas entry now confirmed, along with their anticipated full-time entry into the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires Series in time for the 2021 season, the team will now have a comprehensive and diverse internal ladder system that can take drivers from karts to INDYCAR.

“I couldn’t be happier to confirm our entry into the Formula Regional Americas Championship,” commented team owner Jay Howard. “We will start off by running one car, but we will add a second this year.  This addition to the program brings us one step closer to finalizing our internal ladder from karts all the way up to INDYCAR, and I am very appreciative for everyone who is involved with the program. From a personal side, it’s also great to further strengthen our relationship with Honda, who have been a big supporter of mine dating back to 2008 when I was an INDYCAR driver.”

JHDD and their newly formed Formula Regional Americas outfit don’t have long to wait until the action starts, with the season scheduled to get underway at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 25 – 28.  Fans can follow all of the action via the Race Monitor App and JHDD social media channels.
