F3 and F4 programs available from Momentum Motorsports
The 2019 F3 Americas Powered by Honda season ended this past Sunday at the Sebring International Raceway, but that does not mean the on-track activity is complete for Momentum Motorsports this year. Returning back to their facility on the upper East Coast, the perennial F3 and F4 team will turn around cars and begin their prep for an intense off-season test program as well as the 2020 race season.
"The last checkered flag of the year was Sunday, but 2020 started for us on Monday," explained Phil Picard. "Our season ended on low point with power issues that forced us out of competing in the final rounds, but that just gives us motivation to work harder this off-season. We had many high points throughout the year including podium results with multiple drivers, hard charger awards and several fast lap honors. We also had the luxury of running two W Series drivers and four different competitors throughout the season."
Before Momentum Motorsports looks forward to next year, the team will travel to the Virginia International Raceway and the 2019 SCCA Runoffs with driver Kent Vaccaro. Competing in an F3 machine, Vaccaro will be partnering with Honda and Ligier and share paddock space with one of the most popular automotive brands in the world. Honda will provide direct support to Kent and Momentum as well as to their other products in competition. Additionally, Momentum Motorsports will display an F4 car throughout the event weekend and the F3 car while not on track.
Looking forward to 2020, Momentum Motorsports has a few goals on their list as they look to continue their presence in the F3 program, but also rejoin the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda. With multiple seats open across both divisions and different programs available, Momentum Motorsports is committed to moving forward.
Picard continued, "The F3 series provides a different budget and price point than F4. We want to be able to promote from within our team in our very own internal ladder. This program would provide consistency for our drivers, as well as the opportunity for advancement with little change less the vehicle itself. There are huge benefits to a two series platform, but also it is a lot of work."
Momentum Motorsports is opening their program to drivers looking to get behind the wheel of an F3 or F4 machine. Whether it is to just try an open wheel car or plan for the future, Momentum can help.
