SALINAS, Calif. (May 2, 2024) – Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) will make its West Coast debut this weekend at the iconic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with the non-points paying FR Americas Invitational. Incorporated into the Mission Foods Laguna Seca SpeedTour, FR Americas will join the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), Trans Am Series Western Championship, International GT (IGT), Historic Trans Am, B-Sedan Challenge and OPTIMA’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car for the exciting four-day event.

Teams will test today, with practice and qualifying kicking off tomorrow and feature races on Saturday and Sunday.

“We’re excited to take FR Americas to the West Coast this weekend,” said Scott Goodyear, Race Director for FR Americas. “It’s our first trip to the historic WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and with such a bucket list venue, it’s certain to be a weekend to remember.”

Last year’s FR Americas Vice Champion, Ryan Shehan (No. 66 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3), is looking for his second win of the season after taking the checkered flag in Race 3 at NOLA Motorsports Park last month.

Also competing this weekend are Jett Bowling (No. 02 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3), Landan Matriano Lim (No. 739 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) and Titus Sherlock (No. 31 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3). Rookies this season, the trio of drivers has the ability to log even more laps in their Ligier JS F3s this weekend while also competing for the top step of the podium in the FR Americas Invitational.

Drivers competing in the Mission Foods Laguna Seca SpeedTour this weekend will have a nice warmup for Round 2 of the 2024 FR Americas Championship season, as the next official points-paying round is set to take place at Road America, May 16-19.
